WHAT IS THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING?
Established in 1980, Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging (PSA 2 AAA) is a Joint Powers agency providing aging and adult services in Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties. As one of thirty-three (33) planning and service areas in the California Senior Network, each Area Agency is charged with creating a unique system of service delivery which will best meet the specific needs of the older adults and adults with functional impairments within their communities. All Area Agencies share a common mission of preserving independence, dignity, and choice to enable our populations to "age-at-home" and prevent premature institutionalization.
This presentation includes information on bathing, sundowning, wandering, and anything else you may want to discuss related to caring for someone with dementia.
Be a part of advancing the Five Bold Goals of the Master Plan for Aging (MPA), California's 10-year blueprint for building a state for all ages and abilities. The MPA Day of Action event brings together consumers, aging and disability leaders, and policymakers to elevate current and future issues that impact older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers to inform the development of the MPA’s 2025-2026 Initiatives.

California for All Ages is the California Department of Aging’s campaign to combat ageism and promote equity. Ageism is when someone treats you unfairly, or discriminates against you, based on your age. California’s Master Plan for Aging
In June 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order calling for the creation of a Master Plan for Aging. The Executive Order affirmed the priority of the health and well-being of older Californians and the need for policies that promote healthy aging.
Reporting Elder Abuse
PSA 2 AAA provides educational materials and training to develop, strengthen, and carry out programs for elder abuse prevention, detection, and reporting.
